Missions Ministry

Plymouth is very involved in missions.

We have a mission team that supports local missions as well as missionaries around the world. 10% of all tithes and offerings given to Plymouth Church go to missions.

The missionaries and organizations we support financially can be found on our "links" page.

Backpack Buddies

This ministry assists low income families in our area by collecting food and school supplies. Many children depend on free and reduced meals at public schools. They often don't eat much if at all on the weekends. The food is collected and sent home with local school children on Friday’s to provide meals on the weekend. We also sponsor several families for Thanksgiving and Easter.

CrossExamined.org is a ministry started in 2006 that conducts dynamic I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be An Atheist seminars on college campuses, churches, and high schools. Led by Frank Turek and other Christian apologists, Cross Examined exists to address the problem that 3-out-of-4 Christian youth leave the church while in college, many because they are intellectually skeptical. In addition to I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be An Atheist, CrossExamined.org presenters address other topics faced by young people today. The ministry also has a television show on the NRB network (directv channel 378) and an app in the app store.

Lane Park Mission

Over 2,200 volunteers help deliver meals Monday through Friday each week.

Meals on Wheels of Wake County was founded on February 12, 1974 with ten volunteers meeting at Hillyer Christian Church to deliver meals in downtown Raleigh. Since then over 8 million meals have been served in Wake County alone.

Operation Christmas Child

Global

This is a ministry of Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse that packages shoeboxes filled with items for children. These boxes are delivered all around the world at Christmastime to show Christ’s love. We begin collecting items in October and our Children’s Ministry sorts and packs the boxes. Our Women’s Fellowship group pays for the shipping. We deliver the boxes to the nearest distribution center where they are sent all over the world. Plymouth routinely packs and ships more than 100 boxes.
